Miniature Dresser ~ Jewelry Box

Tuesday, January 31, 2012
I'm playing catch up once again with my posting.  I refinished this cute little vintage styled jewelry box for my niece this past Christmas.

I forgot to take a before picture but it was quite ugly when I purchased it.  However, I saw some potential...  It was in my craft room for several months cause I didn't quite know if I could use it, but then Christmas came and I thought it would be perfect for my 16-year-old niece:)  I love the aqua blue velvet interior.  I painted it out black and did a "tiny" bit of distressing.  It turned out great, but I don't think I will go into the business of refinishing mini furniture, as this was a little nit picky for my liking:)

Creamy 3 Drawer Dresser

SOLD

This lovely 3 drawer dresser / cabinet is for sale!  This piece is very versatile and can be used in any room.  It can be used as a nightstand, side table in a living room or even in an entry.  It's great because it doesn't take up as much room as a regular size dresser but you get the benefit of the storage space.

This has been refinished in a buttercream, distressed and finished with a latex satin finish for protection. New bronze / black hardware was also added.  All drawers are dovetail and slide well.  It's in excellent shape.

Measures 19" d x 29" w x 31" H.

Teak buffet gets a cottage farm transformation...

This ones sold already but I thought I would share yet another transformation with you:)

I will admit, it wasn't my favorite piece I have purchased but it's amazing what some paint can do!  I think this turned out fabulous.  It has been painted out black, distressed and finished with a dark wax.  I love the two tones, with the back of the shelves being natural.  I hope the owner is as happy with it as I am!

Some of my projects of the week.... Office makeover!

Friday, January 13, 2012
Last week I started working on a buffet and a desk for our office.  The office was already done, but I'm crazy like that, and like to change things constantly.  The buffet was free, you can beat that, a friend wanted to by our current desk and blue sideboard in our office and I had one that was passed onto us from my husbands father sitting in our garage.  So, project office began.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but when I start a project for myself I usually try to power through it cause I have 10 other things that I want to start and I really don't love some of the refinishing process but it's always worth it in the end!

One week later, it's all complete and now I'm on to the next project.

I'm currently working on some side tables for my neighbor, I've got a slew of other projects around here, one or two pieces left in my garage that I want to finish up, and then it's a fresh start for the NEW YEAR!  I feel a highboy coming soon and perhaps something red?
