King Size Upholstered Headboard

Tuesday, March 15, 2011
SOLD!!!

Before

This king size French provincial-style headboard has been painted black and distressed.  I had the "Mr", help me by cutting a board so I could add an upholstered piece of fabric to the back of the headboard.  I used polyester filling and batting to give the fabric a more "fluffy" look and then covered it with this rich silver- metallic material.  I love the pin-tuck look of this fabric.

This headboard can be screwed to a frame or to your wall.  The height may need to be adjusted, depending on the height of your mattress or bed frame.  And if you are wanting to change the look of your decor or bedding, the material can easily be changed for a new look!  This piece makes a statement and has  look of luxury.  It measures 79"w x approximately 40"h.

I am asking $250 with fabric and $225 without fabric.

White Wash Highboy ~ My new LOVE

Wednesday, March 9, 2011
SOLD

After (Click to enlarge)

I am now in LOVE with white washing.  That's for today at least, as my friend Dina quoted to me last week, "any way the wind blows" , in reference to my likes or things I get obsessed with.  It changes on a day to day basis sometimes:).  During the last few months of researching and reading endless blogs, I finally tackled something new and I'm so happy with the end result!

I had no idea what I was going to do with this piece when I first got it.  Due to the large size and it's unique character, I knew it demanded something special but I wasn't sure where to go with it.  But finally, I had a vision and went with it!

Before

This piece measures 22"d x 44"h x 39.5" w.  It has 5 very LARGE drawers for lots of storage room.  It is STURDY and solid wood.  If I had to name this dresser, I would call it "BIG BOY HIGHBOY", referring to its large size.  It's a one of a kind piece!

This piece was sanded down, white washed, dry brushed and an ebony stain was used on the top.  Then it was slightly distressed and finished with some Minwax furniture paste for protection.  I also added some new oil-rubbed bronze hardware.  It's gorgeous and it's looking for a new home!  Before, I change my mind and decide to keep it.....   $475
